Media Critique

The most watched event in sports, the Super Bowl, is an entertainment spectacular. The actual game is only one third of the action for viewers, the halftime show and the all new commercials attract a much wider audience. The new commercials have always intrigued me because of people getting overly excited to see what company will have the best ad. I found a great article on Grantland.com  that lays out the most talked about commercials and the writer breaks each down. 

In this article there are imbedded YouTube videos of each commercial being examined. It gives the reader a visual tool to put their own emotions into what they are viewing. Then, they can compare how they felt about the commercial to what the writer saw. Overall, I thought it was a very interactive article, that was entertaining and a good length. There was even a section at the end to leave comments, which makes it even more interactive.

Another multimedia article I found was about President Obama making tax cuts. It starts out with a video of the president speaking to the media about his plans. This is followed by an in-depth article about his plans moving forward. About halfway down the page, there are two more videos if the reader wants to dig even deeper into this issue. Again, I thought the writer did well with incorporating visuals along with the actual article.
